SAPPER version 7- A design tool.

Why should I use Sapper version 7 software?

In order to combat the threat of global warming, achieving a low carbon footprint for all new dwellings should be the highest priority for architects and designers. It makes good sense for all dwelling designers/developers to have this design tool at their disposal at an early stage in the design process.

Sapper version 7 contains a unique facility called DER diagnosis which, in the event of the DER not achieving the TER, will give the designer real help and advice as to how to improve the performance, based on the actual project and the actual inputs.

Why can't I just leave to whole question of SAP to the "accredited experts"?
Is it wise to leave the DER/TER calculation until the Building Regulations stage, then employ an "expert" to possibly inform you that your design does not achieve the Target Emission Rate(TER)?

Well, achieving a good Dwelling Emission Rate (DER) is a complex and holistic issue involving many factors, some of the most critical being the shape of the dwelling, the orientation and the amount of glazing. You therefore should not leave it until the application for Building Regulations approval before you find out if the carbon emissions are acceptable or not. Remember, some design errors can be difficult and expensive to correct.

With Sapper version 7, which is a competitively priced programme including U-value calculating facility, it is simple to check the carbon emission rate at an early stage in the design process. You can save the calculation and modify it as necessary as the design develops.
