The SEDBUK (Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers in UK) database, compiled in conjunction with Boiler manufacturers, has now been launched on the internet. For use by SAP assessors and other boiler specifiers, the database can be viewed at www.sedbuk.com or by clicking here
The database has detailed information on about 2000 gas and oil fired boilers and BoilerBrowser allows the user to browse the government's boiler efficiency data file off-line.
BoilerBrowser is now fully integrated into Sapper versions 5 and 6 SAP calculating programs, but as a stand-alone program, BoilerBrowser is useful for all SAP assessors - even if they are not using SAPPER software!
All boiler specifiers will find BoilerBrowser helpful in comparing the performance of boilers.
BoilerBrowser's search engine allows the user to find:

currently available, obsolete or all boilers
boiler type e.g.regular, combi, storage combi, CPSU, condensing
mounting position, wall or floor
fuel - gas, LPG or oil
model name if known
efficiency
any combination of above.
When a boiler is selected from a list, the characteristics of the boiler are displayed and can be sent to a printer.

The database includes information required for the delivery of SAP ratings and includes:

Manufacturer's details
Model identification
Seasonal efficiency
Efficiency category
Boiler output range
Type of boiler(regular, combination, CPSU, condensing)
Condensing or non-condensing
Floor or wall mounting
Flue type
Fuel type
SAP equation used
store type (for storage combis and CPSUs)
Store volume
Store insulation type and thickness
