About EcoHomes
EcoHomes is an environmental assessment method for housing developments, with a scale of Pass to Excellent, which has been developed by BRE. EcoHomes considers the broad environmental concerns of climate change, resource use and impact on wildlife, and balances these against the need for a high quality of life and a safe and healthy internal environment.

It is now a requirement for all new Housing Association developments to achieve a "Pass" rating.

The issues assessed are grouped into the seven categories:

Full assessments should be done by a licensed assessor with formal certification carried out by BRE when all stages are completed. Housing developers can use the method to demonstrate sustainability. This program calculates the EcoHomes points likely to be scored for housing developments. Features include:
